V M Trehan, born in a middle class family in 1943 in Shimla, son of a Government Officer – spent most of his childhood and did schooling from Shimla, Gurgaon, Naraingarh, Gulha, Ballabgarh, Ambala City and Delhi due to the transferable job of his father Late Lala Faqir Chand Trehan.

Mr. Trehan is an entrepreneur par excellence, multifaceted personality, suave, charismatic and a staunch Nationalist.

He has devoted much of his time to propagate the cause of Science & Technology and was instrumental in bringing in the latest Digital Technology in India in 1982 – which has been the foundation for India’s economic development as the basic infrastructure.

His quest for social harmony is well known due to his contribution through Foundation for Amity & National Solidarity of which he is the Founder President, having contributed almost total resources for over 450 events throughout the country and abroad.

He is currently the Chairman of Delhi Chapter of Indian Science Congress Association and has spearheaded establishment of Chapters in Delhi and Hyderabad in 1994. His constant endeavour to build up scientific temper is well known.
